Bachelor programme in International Studies in Management (ISM) (B.A.)
Learning objectives
The Bachelor programme International Studies in Management (ISM) prepares you for internationally-focused positions. You will acquire business skills orientated towards international markets. The practical outlook of this programme will enable you to apply scientific methodology to specific business issues. At the same time you will upgrade your teamwork, communication, project management and presentation competencies.
We have designed this programme for small-group work and individual profile building supported by personalized tuition along your studies.
You will be accompanied and counselled by the ISM lecturing and programme management team.
Careers
ISM graduates are educated to take up challenging technical and management tasks in international organizations and businesses. They have high motivation, international experience and proven communication skills.
Yours careers are in Distribution, Marketing, Finance and Accounting, Controlling, Organisation and Information Systems, HR, Training, Auditing and Tax Consulting.

Course of studies
Terms 1 and 2 are hosted by FH Bielefeld. They focus on the basics of Business Admnistration and English / French or Spanish language. Other languages can be chosen from external offers.
Terms 3 and 4 form an international year and are preferably hosted by one of FH Bielefeld’s international partner schools. As a matter of principle studies at our partner schools are tuition-free. Study programme are agreed and integrated into your degree programme.
In semester 5 you will return for studies at FH Bielefeld and in semester 6 you will be working on a corporate project to be delivered abroad or having an international background. This will be followed by your thesis.
From semester 2 on the working language of FH Bielefeld classes will be English.
Entry-level qualifications
German Secondary School Leaving Certificate levels 1 / 2 (Abitur/Fachhochschulreife) or validated equivalent.
Foreign language skills
- Five learning years of English; French and/or Spanish desirable
- Three years+ of French and three years+ of English
- Two years+ of Spanish and three years+ of English
