CampusCard

The Data Processing Centre provides users with the CampusCard, a multi-functional chip card. DVZ operates the IT systems used to create, manage and delete the CampusCard. The CampusCard service centre is located with the IT ServiceDesk in the main building on Bielefeld Campus. The application for and use of the CampusCard is free of charge.

The following services are provided through the CampusCard and can be used 24/7, provided that the services or service points used (e.g. library) are open:

  • Student ID
On behalf of Student Affairs, DVZ issues the CampusCard as a student ID; it must be renewed at the beginning of each semester at one of the validation terminals.
  • Library card
All users can also use the CampusCard as a library card. DVZ provides the library’s IT systems with the relevant information for use. All users of the library can borrow media via the CampusCard.
  • Means of payment in the canteens and cafeterias of Studierendenwerk Bielefeld
Studierendenwerk (student services) and DVZ cooperate in the settlement of the CampusCard’s virtual balance. Users can top up the CampusCard at the canteens’ and cafeterias’ cash registers and at special terminals and thus pay cash-free.
  • Access to University Sports Service
Thanks to a cooperation with Bielefeld University, users can benefit from the facilities of the University Sports Service. For this purpose, access must be activated via the Benutzerverwaltung at the beginning of the semester.
  • Digital key
DVZ operates the IT systems used to manage the locking systems at all locations of HSBI, as well as the lockers in the main building on Bielefeld Campus. Access to the main building via the underground car park requires a CampusCard with the appropriate locking authorisation.

The CampusCard at a glance:

  • Application
You can apply for your personal CampusCard at the Benutzerverwaltung via the link “CampusCard” in the navigation. For this purpose it is necessary, among other things, to upload a digital photo; please find information on this here. Once you have submitted your application, you can also track the status of completion in the Benutzerverwaltung. Please note that upon application you automatically accept the CampusCard’s Terms of Use.
  • Validity/Validation
The CampusCard is valid for one semester. You can use the available validation terminals to renew your CampusCard for one semester at a time as soon as your re-registration has been processed. These terminals are available in the following places:
  • Main building: self-service niche in the main hallway opposite the Audimax
  • Lampingstraße: main entrance
  • Minden Campus: Audimax entrance area
  • Gütersloh Campus: 3rd floor
  • Loss
If you lose your CampusCard, you must block it in the Benutzerverwaltung. Blocking cannot be undone, therefore you will have to apply for a new CampusCard in any case. Lost and found CampusCard can be collected at the IT ServiceDesk in the main building on Bielefeld Campus.
