Traumgarten

Sitting in a small boat, I drift across a dark sea. An uncertain terrain engulfs me – aside from everyday items found in a garden, porous and cracked surfaces reveal odd figures made of sugar icing. There’s no clear separation of above and below, every corner seems familiar and at the same time like a black hole. At the end of the ride, a veiled object is enthroned. In Traumgarten, the real and the digital world clash onto each other in an experimental way. Fragments from a fotoscan of Grandma’s garden in Bielefeld are rearranged virtually, manipulated in a 3D program, and recombined from scratch. By using a VR headset to view the work, it is possible to completely immerse oneself into the virtual environment.
