New publication in Communications in Development and Assembling of Textile Products (CDATP) Journal in February 2021


In the study “Investigation of metallic nanoparticle distribution in PAN/ magnetic nanocomposites fabricated with needleless electrospinning technique”, the Junior Research Group “Nanomaterials” and in particular the PhD student Ms. Marah Trabelsi have investigated the magnetic nanofibers and proposed a method to detect agglomerations quickly and without using time-consuming analytical techniques with scanning electron microscope (SEM)/energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) combination. Visual observation with Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopes (CLSM) or Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) does not provide clear evidence of agglomerations in the nanofibers. However, with the use of SEM/EDS, many different types of samples can be easily analyzed where other analytical techniques cannot give a quick answer about the agglomerations in nanofibers.
