text: "Background: Though still a young field of research, gamified digital interventions
have demonstrated potential in exerting a favourable impact on health and overall
well-being. With the increasing use of the internet and digital devices, the integration
of game elements presents novel opportunities for preventing mental disorders
and enhancing mental health. Hence, this review aims to assess the effectiveness
of gamified interventions focusing on preventing mental disorders or promoting
mental health among adults.\r\n\r\nMethods: Based on a scoping review across four
databases (MEDLINE, Embase, PsycInfo and Web of Science), 7,953 studies were initially
identified. After removing duplicates and screening titles, abstracts and full
texts, 16 studies were identified as suitable for inclusion in a narrative synthesis
of findings. We included interventional studies encompassing an intervention and
a control group aiming to investigate the effectiveness of the use of gamified
digital mental health interventions and the use of gamified digital elements.\r\n\r\nResults:
Overall, positive effects of gamified interventions on mental health-related outcomes
were identified. In particular, beneficial consequences for psychological well-being
and depressive symptoms were observed in all studies. However, further outcomes,
such as resilience, anxiety, stress or satisfaction with life, showed heterogenous
findings. Most game elements used were reward, sensation and progress, whilst
the quantity of elements was not consistent and, therefore, no substantiated conclusion
regarding the (optimal) quantity or composition of game elements can be drawn.
Further, the outcomes, measurements and analyses differed greatly between the
16 included studies making comparisons difficult.\r\n\r\nConclusion: In summary,
this review demonstrates the potential of integrating digital game elements on
mental health and well-being with still a great gap of research. A taxonomy is
needed to adequately address relevant game elements in the field of mental health
promotion and prevention of mental disorders. Therefore, future studies should
explicitly focus on the mechanisms of effect and apply rigorous study designs."

text: "Background: Universities have a pivotal role in shaping future societal norms,
including sustainable and health-promoting eating habits. However, the integration
of these practices into university communal catering faces numerous challenges.
This study aims to explore diverse barriers and drivers influencing the adoption
of sustainable nutrition in university settings and to propose targeted recommendations
for action.\r\n\r\nMethods: A qualitative research approach was adopted, centring
around a participatory workshop that included six stakeholders from various backgrounds.
Participants were asked to adopt perspectives different from their own in order
to identify and discuss key issues in implementing sustainable nutrition. The
results of the discussions were analyzed thematically to determine the primary
drivers and barriers.\r\n\r\nResults: The study identified a complex interplay
of factors affecting sustainable nutrition in university settings. Key barriers
included financial constraints, diverse dietary needs, educational gaps, and logistical
challenges. Conversely, drivers encompassed the potential role of universities
as pioneers in sustainable eating, the influence of social dynamics, and the importance
of multifaceted stakeholder engagement. The findings suggest that a holistic approach
is needed to address these issues, including educational initiatives, policy support,
economic incentives, and scientific research.\r\n\r\nConclusion: This research
underscores the need for a comprehensive strategy to implement sustainable and
health-promoting nutrition in university communal catering. Recommendations for
action are presented from political, economic, and scientific perspectives, emphasizing
the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration. The study contributes to the
understanding of sustainable nutrition in educational institutions and provides
a foundation for future initiatives aimed at fostering healthier and more sustainable
eating habits in university communities."

electromyographic recordings of the biceps and triceps muscles, as well as the
elbow joint angle of several human subjects during the performance of various
arm exercises under varying load situations. The data were originally recorded
for the purpose of optimizing a musculoskeletal model of the upper arm with a
focus on elbow movement in 2018 and 2019 as part of a research project at Bielefeld
University of Applied Sciences, Germany. In the context of this publication, the

text: 'Crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic put heavy restrictions on researchers
who mainly follow a qualitative, ethnographic stance that typically relies on
immersion in the setting, bringing remote research into the spotlight. In this
paper, we describe how we, as qualitative researchers, responded to the crisis
by comparing our experiences in conducting remote interviews in two German contexts:
1) with employees from a video game company during the summer of 2020 and 2) with
several political and non-political actors in a rural region during autumn 2020
to summer 2021. Drawing on these experiences, we provide lessons learned for times
when physical distancing is necessary but also beyond. While we faced some challenges
and limitations, such as technical difficulties and a lack of contextual insights
on-site, we also found a more profound quality in the absence of the regular interview
setting. Thus, we advocate retaining someprocedures and alternative ways as future
practice.'

text: Production planning is essential for any manufacturing company, especially
when complex and varied processes must be considered. Accurate processing times
play a critical role for scheduling production runs and allocating resources effectively.
In practice, the respective master data from the ERP system is often used for
this purpose. However, maintaining the master data is challenging, especially
with large amounts of data in flexible environments. In this context, incorrect
or outdated data quickly lead to significant planning inaccuracies. This paper
presents a study that uses machine learning (ML) models to accurately predict
the processing times of single operations of future production runs based on historical
production runs. Various ML algorithms were trained and evaluated on a real-world
dataset. In comparison to the master data the root mean squared error could be
reduced by 23% using ML. Thus, these estimated times can be used for optimizing
future schedules and incorporating such an ML model in the production planning
process eliminates the need for master data.

text: " Background - \r\n The registration
of studies, especially in the case of clinical trials, is required by the declaration
of Helsinki and the policies of various scientific journals. However, numerous
analyses have found considerable discrepancies between published articles and
accompanying trial registrations. The aim of this study is to assess such discrepancies
for a sample of studies with recruiting locations in Germany. Additionally, the
association between the adherence to registrations and possible involvement of
Coordinating Centers for Clinical Studies (KKS) as well as Universities of Excellence
was tested.\r\n
\r\n Methods - \r\n
\ For a sample of 376 interventional or observational study
registrations, we found 115 published articles. Subsequently, we searched for
discrepancies in the study design, the key inclusion criteria, the interventions,
the blinding, and a primary and a secondary outcome.\r\n
\r\n Results - \r\n We found discrepancies
in 26% of all studies, most frequently in the secondary outcomes, where 16.5%
of the secondary outcomes per study that were registered in most detail had discrepancies.
When running regression models for adherence discrepancies, the only variable
that had a statistically significant association with better adherence was registration
on ClinicalTrials.gov. The association of potential involvement of a KKS with
adherence ratings was positive, too, but statistically insignificant.\r\n
\r\n Conclusions - \r\n In summary, the
amount of discrepancies between registrations and published articles remains elevated.\r\n

text: " Zusammenfassung - \r\n Der vorliegende
Beitrag möchte den Analysen zur Digitalisierung in der Sozialen Arbeit eine arbeits-
und interaktionssoziologische Perspektive hinzufügen. Auf diese Weise werden mögliche
Vor- und Nachteile der Digitalisierung aus der Sicht von Fachkräften, Hilfsbedürftigen
und Organisationen deutlich. Es zeigt sich, dass die im Zuge der Digitalisierung
oft geäußerten Ängste und Hoffnungen hinsichtlich der Rationalisierung Sozialer
Arbeit zu kurz greifen. Die Analyse wird durch arbeitssoziologische Überlegungen
zur Dienstleistungsarbeit sowie die Interaktionstheorie Luhmanns theoretisch gerahmt.
Letztere ist in eine Organisations- sowie eine umfassende Sozialtheorie eingebettet
und bietet dadurch kohärente Anknüpfungspunkte für die Untersuchung der möglichen
Auswirkungen der Nutzung digitaler Technologien in helfenden Interaktionen. Anstatt
durch Standardisierung Abstimmungsprobleme zu reduzieren, dürfte die Nutzung digitaler
Technologien vor allem neue Abstimmungsprobleme begünstigen.\r\n "

text: " Abstract - \r\n This article aims to add
to the discussion about digitization in social work by analyzing the sociology
of work and interaction perspectives. In this way, possible advantages and disadvantages
of digitization become clear from the perspective of professionals, those in need
of help, and organizations. It becomes apparent that the often-expressed fears
and hopes regarding the rationalization of social work fall short. The analysis
is theoretically framed by sociological considerations on service work as well
as Luhmann’s interaction theory. The latter is embedded in an organizational as
well as a comprehensive social theory and, thus, offers a coherent basis for the
investigation of the possible effects of the use of digital technologies in helping
interactions. Rather than reducing coordination problems through standardization,
the use of digital technologies is likely to primarily foster new coordination
problems.\r\n "

\r\nIntelligenz\" (KI) und \"Programmiermethoden\" (PM) am Campus Minden unterstützt.
Beide Veranstaltungen sind durch moderne Lehrkonzepte und eine enge Verschmelzung
digitaler und analoger Elemente geprägt und werden im Flipped Classroom durchgeführt;
die Veranstaltung KI wird zudem in internationaler Kooperation organisiert.
In beiden Projekten sollte die Selbstlernphase gestärkt und das Peer-Learning
gefördert werden, in KI war zusätzlich die Aktivierung der Studierenden im Internationalisierungskontext
ein wichtiges Ziel.\r\nWir möchten in unserem Beitrag unsere Erfahrungen beim
Peer-Feedback zu Übungsaufgaben im ILIAS, bei digitalen Selbsttests zur Lernfortschrittskontrolle,
bei der Durchführung von Poster-Sessions und der Einrichtung einer Poster-Gallerie
sowie bei der Bildung von internationalen Studierenden-Tandems teilen. Darüber
hinaus werden wir einen Einblick in die Gestaltung der ILIAS-Kursräume geben,
die jeweils aus einem offenen Kursraum für das OER-Lehr-/Lernmaterial sowie
einem geschlossenen Kursraum für die Semesterorganisation und Abgaben bestanden.
Hierzu wurde eine interessante Lösung entwickelt, um den Studierenden zeitgesteuert
die in einer bestimmten Woche relevanten ILIAS-Objekte zu präsentieren.\r\nDieser
Beitrag wurde gemeinsam mit dem Studierenden Finn Amini Kaveh in seiner Rolle
als Digital Learning Scout erstellt."

text: Gamification im Hochschulbereich zur Motivationssteigerung von Lernenden ist
ein vielversprechender Ansatz. In diesem Vortrag wird ein Tool präsentiert, mit
dem Lehrende ohne umfangreiche Software- oder Videospielentwicklungskompetenzen
Übungsaufgaben als Quests in ein 2D-Rollenspiel integrieren können. Dazu wird
eine Beschreibungssprache verwendet, die Aufgaben in Spielszenarien umwandelt,
die von den Lernenden im Spiel gelöst werden.

text: " Despite the availability and ease of collecting a large
amount of free, unlabeled data, the expensive and time-consuming labeling process
is still an obstacle to labeling a sufficient amount of training data, which is
essential for building supervised learning models. Here, with low labeling cost,
the active learning (AL) technique could be a solution, whereby a few, high-quality
data points are queried by searching for the most informative and representative
points within the instance space. This strategy ensures high generalizability
across the space and improves classification performance on data we have never
seen before. In this paper, we provide a survey of recent studies on active learning
in the context of classification. This survey starts with an introduction to the
theoretical background of the AL technique, AL scenarios, AL components supported
with visual explanations, and illustrative examples to explain how AL simply works
and the benefits of using AL. In addition to an overview of the query strategies
for the classification scenarios, this survey provides a high-level summary to
explain various practical challenges with AL in real-world settings; it also explains
how AL can be combined with various research areas. Finally, the most commonly
used AL software packages and experimental evaluation metrics with AL are also
discussed.\r\n "
