--- _id: '536' abstract: - lang: eng text: Plant extracts from the neem tree can be applied as a bioinsecticidal compound in ‘attract-and-kill’ co-formulations to control soildwelling insect pests. Since insects are attracted to the bioinsecticide, the attract-and-kill approach benefits from a reduced dose of insecticide needed. Here, we demonstrate that a powdery neem seed kernel extract in combination with corn starch significantly enhances the drying survival of coencapsulated CO2-releasing Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Additionally, an increased content of the neem extract was shown to slow down the relative release of azadirachtin A. Both findings are of high relevance for the development of formulations in the field of biological pest control. author: - first_name: Pascal full_name: Humbert, Pascal last_name: Humbert - first_name: Marina full_name: Vemmer, Marina last_name: Vemmer - first_name: Anant V. full_name: Patel, Anant id: 201870 last_name: Patel orcid: 0000-0003-1771-407X date_created: 2019-06-14T06:18:55Z date_updated: 2021-01-18T15:32:27Z doi: 10.1080/09583157.2018.1434615 intvolume: ' 28' issue: '2' page: 185-191 publication: Biocontrol Science and Technology publication_identifier: issn: - 1360-0478 publisher: Informa UK Limited status: public title: Increased neem extract content enhances drying survival of co-encapsulated Saccharomyces cerevisiae and decreases relative release of azadirachtin type: journal_article volume: 28 year: '2018' ...
